Hybrid Heart was created in memory of Carole Rocheleau, mother of Race Director and Hybrid Hobbyist Tyler Booth, who passed away following her fight with cancer.

Following Carole’s passing, Tyler’s teammates rallied around him and dedicated their shared endurance journey to her memory. With the support of friends, family and Ottawa’s athletic community, the Hybrid Hobbyists raised more than $26,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society.

Hybrid Heart is the next chapter of that journey.

“My mom is the reason this exists.”

MADE OF MANY.

The “Hybrid” in our name represents everyone invited to take part.

Runners. Lifters. Cyclists. Rowers. Team-sport athletes. Local businesses. Sporting brands. Community organizations. People moving for different reasons, brought together by one shared purpose.

Hybrid Heart begins as a trail race, but its vision extends beyond a single distance or discipline. We are building an annual movement where different athletic communities can come together, honour the people who move us and create a measurable impact in our city.

One event. Many communities. One heart.
